Upon your arrival at Socotra Airport, you will be warmly greeted by your driver, who will escort you to the magnificent Detwah Lagoon. Detwah Lagoon is a true natural gem, featuring the clear blue waters framed by pristine white beaches. You will have time to leisurely stroll along the shoreline and immerse yourself in the tranquility of the landscape.
After a lunch and relaxing break at the beach campsite, your adventure continues to a 400-meter hill for the iconic Socotra desert rose. Capture breathtaking views of the sunset in the late afternoon.
The first day of this 8-day Socotra tour concludes with a night under the stars at the Detwah Lagoon campsite. Preparing you for tomorrow's journey.
Kind Reminder:
The round trip for the desert rose takes approximately 2 to 4 hours. This requires crossing a steep and rocky path covered with gravel, which demands good physical fitness. Due to the challenging terrain, travelers with chronic diseases or those who are not regular exercisers are not advised to participate in this expedition. And a headlamp is essential for the descent.

Your day begins with a journey to Qalansiya, the second-largest town on Socotra Island. Then you will board a boat to the pristine Shuab Beach. When you are sailing on the sparkling waters, you might have the good fortune to witness a group of lively dolphins. You can also observe Socotra's unique birdlife and other marine creatures.
Later, you will be guided to the cave of Ellai, home to the island's famous caveman. If he is present, you are welcome to visit him. By communicating with him, you will hear interesting stories about his efforts to protect the ocean. He may even invite you to join him in catching fresh oysters and pen shells.
At noon, you will hike back to the Detwah Lagoon campsite for lunch and a short break. The afternoon's adventure will take you to the majestic Disksam Plateau, renowned as the largest habitat for the iconic Dragon Blood Trees on the island. You will pass by a striking meteorite crater and encounter abandoned Soviet tanks. As you proceed, the surreal Dragon Blood Trees will finally come into view.
You will set up camp on the plateau this evening.

Begin your morning from the Disksam Plateau and embark on an immersive tour to Socotra's most iconic scenery. You will journey through Wadi Dirhur to enter the Firmihin Dragon Blood Tree Forest, home to the highest concentration of these ancient, umbrella-shaped trees.
Here, you will hike through this surreal landscape and experience an intimate connection with the endemic Dragon Blood Trees.
In the evening, you will camp in this magical forest. It's time to capture the scene of the dragon blood tree and the starry sky together.
Kind Reminder:
Camping in the forest requires favorable weather conditions. If the skies are clear, you will camp amidst the trees. However, if the weather turns cloudy or rainy, camping in the forest is not possible due to safety concerns. So, the itinerary will be adjusted to camp overnight at an alternative location, such as Aomak Beach.

Get up early to witness a magical sunrise over the Dragon Blood Trees. As the first rays of light pierce through the canopy, you will be amazed by a postcard-perfect scene that is unique to Socotra.
Head to Aomak Beach, a beautiful destination where the desert meets the sea. To reach the dune where the golden sands embrace the ocean, you will hike over the dunes for about 20 minutes.
Venture to Degub Cave, where you can enjoy spectacular coastal views from its entrance. Continue to explore the impressive stalactite and stalagmite formations in the cave.
You will then return to Aomak Beach for lunch and a relaxing break. And then travel to Zaheq Sand Dunes to witness the sunset. As the sun dips below the horizon, the dunes are bathed in a breathtaking gold color.

After breakfast, you will travel to the magnificent Kalysan Canyon, a hidden gem boasting natural pools of jade-like emerald waters. Here, you can indulge in the thrill of cliff jumping or a refreshing swim in the pristine, crystal-clear pools.
Next, take a trip to the Homhil Protected Area, a nature sanctuary that serves as a botanical paradise. As you explore, photograph an incredible variety of endemic flora, including the iconic bottle trees, ancient Dragon Blood Trees, frankincense trees, and cucumber trees. There is also a natural infinity pool on the edge of the cliff with an unparalleled panoramic view of the scenery below.

Begin your day at the Dihamri Marine Reserve, a snorkeling paradise renowned for its biodiversity. Dive into the crystal-clear underwater world, where you can observe vibrant coral reefs and a dazzling array of marine creatures up close. Then return to the camp for lunch and a well-deserved rest.
In the afternoon, travel to Erissel, offering sweeping, panoramic views of the vast Indian Ocean. Here, you will also visit the site of the giant whale bone.
Your journey continues to Arher Dunes, one of the most breathtaking sand dunes on Socotra Island. Later, climb the dunes to witness a magnificent sunset.
Kind Reminder:
You will camp overnight at Arher Dunes. However, if we encounter strong winds or other unfavorable weather conditions, we will move to a nearby safe campsite.

Get up early in the morning and enjoy the magnificent sunrise view at the campsite. You can also choose to climb to the top of the Arher Sand Dunes, which takes approximately 20 minutes. Once you reach the top, you will be able to enjoy the panoramic view of the coastline illuminated by the morning light.
Next, prepare for an excursion to Hoq Cave, a natural limestone cave. Inside, you will marvel at ancient geological formations such as stalactites and stalagmites. Looking out from the entrance of the cave, you are treated to a stunning view of the blue sea stretching to the horizon. The trek to the cave requires some effort, taking approximately 3.5 to 4 hours round-trip. Part of it is the repaired road, which makes the task easier.
At noon, return to the Dihamri Marine Reserve to enjoy lunch and a break.
In the afternoon, you will head to Hadibo, the capital of Socotra. Here, you will check into the hotel for a night's stay. Take the opportunity to explore the vibrant local market, where you can communicate with the friendly residents to learn about their lives and purchase handmade crafts as meaningful souvenirs to take home.
